Hand

And last exercise of the day, a hand with one finger nail. Not great. But I learned somethings. Tomorrow Chapter Six ANIMATION! Yay.

Egghead and Eggholder

All I can say is that maya is bizarre. This egghead was a little more challenging and clearly I haven't come close to grasping the push and pulling of the Sculpt Geometry tool.

Helmets, Goblins and Eggs

Well been playing around with Maya these last few days, and getting distracted with all my new triathlon training options now that I am a member of LA Tri Club. Took me a long time to model this helmet, created from an image provided by the maya manuel. One is the smoother version obviously.

This next one was fun, I had to turn this human head into a Goblin. (Well what Maya considers a goblin).
Human

Goblin... looks way too friendly in my opinion to be a real goblin, maybe it is part elf and human and the ugly bits are goblin.

And then for this Egg holder i had to make it out of a curve, and I've discovered that my manuel is missing some of the images that I'm suppose to use as a guide. Oh well, I figured it out anyway. :)

Temple!

Yay! Finally have Maya and just finished making my first architectural structure, a temple! The Maya Springboard class starts the 27th, and I want to get familiar with the program a little bit more before then. Can't Wait!

Ramone & Henriatta

This is an animatic I have been working on for my short film idea. I storyboarded it and then colored it in flash. It is still rough for now and will probably get changed a bunch more before I start animating. I'd appreciate any comments.

April Blocking

So I have finished my blocking pass for Aprils animation. Still rough obviously but it shows where things are and what will happen. I'm just wondering how hard it will be to tie things down in flash rather than on actual paper.

Animation is Fun!

Just had to say even though nobody reads this, Animation is fun! I can't wait to post my newest work in progress for the April Competition. Its only been a couple hours of work so far and its really just blocking and staging but it so cool how just a few sketches can create movement and emotion. Had to share. And even though I didn't get into Animation Mentor for the Summer, I'm gonna try again for the fall when my 90 days are up.

I also need to start storyboarding my short film about Henrietta and Ramon (or Renaldo), my raccoons, cause I think thats the piece I'd like to work on for my final project. We have to storyboard the whole thing. Animate one scene, and do the final of what the overall design and color of one image will be. (basically do one frame of what it would look like in the final film). I of course want to do more than that but can only do what time permits. Now if my boss would hurry up and get me down to three days a week I could spend more time on this stuff. Animation rocks! Tee Hee.
